Svante Smal is a classic leather leash with a lighter and more refined look.

With its 13 mm width, it suits those who prefer a more delicate leash without compromising on the feel of a genuine natural material. The simple design allows the leather to take center stage, making Svante Smal a leash that works equally well for everyday use and leisurely walks in nature.

The leash is equipped with a Swedish BGB snap hook – a robust and proven hook that combines low weight with high reliability.

Premium leather from Tärnsjö Garveri

The leash is made from dark brown leather from Tärnsjö Garveri – a Swedish tannery with a long tradition of producing high-quality leather.

The leather has a semi-aniline dyed surface with a lightly greased feel that allows the material's natural structure to show through. Before the leash is sent to you, we treat it to provide good basic protection and a fine finish.

We have chosen a slightly thinner leather, approximately 2–2.5 mm thick and 16 mm wide. The result is a light, supple, and flexible leash that feels comfortable in the hand and ages with a beautiful patina.

Leather is a living natural material, and each leash has its own expression. Therefore, natural marks, small variations in texture, and shifts in color may occur. These are not defects but part of the leather's character and a sign that the material comes from nature.

For us, it's part of the charm. Each leash carries its own story and also develops a unique patina the more it is used.

Good to know

Leather is a living natural material and differs from synthetic materials like Hexa.

When the leash is new, it will feel relatively stiff. With use, it will gradually soften and conform to how you use it.

Because we have chosen a thinner leather, the leash may also stretch slightly over time, especially if used with dogs that pull a lot and for extended periods. This is a natural characteristic of leather and one of the reasons we recommend the product to those seeking a premium leash with a focus on feel, aesthetics, and everyday use rather than maximum tensile strength.

Snap hooks and design

The leash comes with standard BGB snap hooks from Orsa. Unlike our Hexa leashes, the leather leashes are handmade in a single studio in Stockholm. We receive them finished, and therefore the hooks cannot be changed afterwards. Please contact us at info@tassmark.se to pre-order with one of our other snap hooks.

Care instructions

• Wipe with a lightly damp cloth when needed.
• Allow the leash to dry at room temperature if it gets wet.
• Apply leather conditioner as needed to maintain suppleness and protection.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and store the leash in a dry place when not in use.
• The leash will feel slightly stiffer when new and will soften with use.
• Over time, the leather will develop a beautiful and personal patina.
• Since the leather is relatively thin, it may stretch slightly if used for a long time by dogs that pull a lot.

Shipping costs start from 49 SEK and you choose whether you want the package delivered to your mailbox or to a collection point.
